Special Issue on Advanced Control Theory and Techniques based on Data Fusion

Advanced control theory and techniques based on Data Fusion provide higher-quality information from multiple sensor data by spatio-temporal data integration, the exploitation of redundant and complementary information, and the available context. Important applications exist in distributed sensor network, aerospace, robotics, monitoring and control of manufacturing processes. Techniques for such data fusion are drawn from a broad set of disciplines including: control theory, statistical estimation, signal and image processing, artificial intelligence, information sciences. Particular emphasis should be placed on advances in the theory of distributed sensing and processing, localization and tracking, nonlinear filtering, network resource management, selection and integration of algorithms, data fusion based on heterogeneous sensors. The special issue publishes original papers of novel discoveries, improvements and results relevant to the field of Data Fusion based Advanced Control Theory and Techniques, both in theory and applications.

Topics of interest of this Special Section include, but are not limited to:

 Data Fusion in Distributed Sensor Network
 Multi-target Detection, Localization and Tracking in Complex Environments
 Large-scale Data fusion in Resource Constrained Networks
 Data fusion based on Nonlinear Filtering
 Data Fusion in Hybrid Intelligent Fusion Systems
 Exploiting information from imaging sensors
 Fusion performance: modeling, prediction and evaluation

To explore possible topics, feel free to contact the guest editors. Accepted papers will be published in the special issue of International Journal of Control, Automation, and Systems (indexed as SCIE), which is scheduled in April/June 2015. All manuscripts will go through regular review processes of the journal.
